The Shoreline Amphitheater is an outdoor stage in Mountain View with a big grassy hill (and some seats on the lower level) - they seem to constantly have day-long music festivals there. Went to see Arcade Fire & LCD Soundsystem, along with some other groups. If you have a friend that works at Google, you can park in the Google lots instead of the general parking. Also, add Live Nation to your bookmarks - it has a lot of concert and comedy listings that Ticketmaster may not have.
